The LG LV550T series offers consumers a little something extra and this 37inch model is an ideal size for most homes and domestic settings. The set is a full1080p LED TV, though doesn’t offer either 3D however for its price it is an excellent set.

Like the bigger 42inch version of the set, the sound quality leaves a little to be desired, with bass the most obvious shortfall. However we must agree we liked the TV and its picture was very good in brightness, though poor in darker scenes, but it is certainly a good TV for its current price.

LG ‘s gone through a bit of a purple patch of late and has pushed itself to the fore of the TV selling industry. The LG 37LE5900 will hope to jump on the bandwagon and be one of LG’s more memorable TVs.

One the outset things look good, it’s a LED light LCD screen – not a full LED, just lit from the sides. The set itself offers full1080p images and also looks quite attractive. LG has gone the way of many Samsung’s and added a tint of red to its frame, which comes across as quite attractive.

The set is a well connected one and LG have given the LG 37LE5900 a total of 4HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, 2 composite ports, a VGA and a SCART port – well endowed with options so. The USB allows for playback via USB or flash memory stick and supports most forms of file type, which is handy for those who enjoy a spot of downloading.

LG have offered a number of other technological devices in the set. The LG 37LE5900 comes with Internet connection options and the tile set up is very attractive and also functional. LG has created a good set with a wide variation of colours and a good contrast and we found a little tweaking of the set up can make all the difference. The pictures look dynamic and punchy in brighter scenes and also can turn to bleak and dark when the picture requires so – something not all sets of this type do with ease.

Up scaling is also quite good on the TV and we must say we were impressed with the lack of noise from the TV on SD. Though we did notice that during contrasting scenes of light and dark there was some light leakage and it is clear where the LED lights are. The TV also suffers from input lag and this is very obvious during X-Box gaming and the like.

Overall the LG is an excellent one in many ways, though there are some quirks and glitches that cause the TV to lack.

LG 37LE5300 Review

Premium TV sets are very common in the TV world, however LG’s attempt with the 37 inch LG 37LE5300 is better than most. The TV is impressively slim and comes with edgelight LED technology ensuring it comes in at below the 30mm mark in terms of width.

LG has a history of putting style above all else and the LE5300 follows this in spades and is one of the company’s most attractive TVs with an attractively slim bezel and minimalist styling’s.

LG 37LE5300 No Smart TV

Unfortunately the TV doesn’t come with either SMART functionality, or 3D technology, the former being much more important than the latter in our eyes. It does however do a great job in terms of picture.

The LG is not just a pretty set aesthetically, it also offers excellent viewing angles, very realistic colours and smooth pictures. Clarity from BluRay and HD sources such as the Freeview and satellite varieties look great on the TV and we were very impressed with it as we were with its larger brother.

The blacks are deep and realistic and whites quite crisp. The shadow detail is also uncharacteristically excellent for an LG and we could easily recommend this as a main TV for a home.  Gaming lag was even low, making the TV a great one for use with your Xbox or PS3.

We really enjoyed the viewing experience with the LG and would definitely recommend it for movie viewing. Team it up with a good pair of speakers to ensure it is all set and then kick back.
