37 Inch LG LV550T Review
The LG LV550T series offers consumers a little something extra and this 37inch model is an ideal size for most homes and domestic settings. The set is a full1080p LED TV, though doesn’t offer either 3D however for its price it is an excellent set.
The TV is a good looking one and has a nice slim frame or bezel and succumbs to LGs belief in good looking TVs with solid and top of the range components inside. The slimness of the LG LV550T due to the LED Technology means that the TV is a great one for wall hanging and is a pleasure to watch.
MCI 500Hz on the LG LV550T
The LG LV550T comes with LG’s latest piece of innovation – MCI 500 Hz – a feature to stimulate a 500Hz refresh rate, though the set is only 100Hz naturally. The set also has a number of other little pieces of trickery to ensure it is a competitive and ample contender to most TVs out at the moment.
LG have ensured that the LG LV550T is a well connected set and it comes with the ability to stream media from connections as well as this it can be connected to the Internet for full Smart capabilities. The LG L550T also has a Freeview HD Tuner – allowing full high definition TV to be shown from channels available.
LG LV550T Smart TV
The Smart TV capabilities impress and the layout is definitely one of the best available. LG make sure that a wide range of options are available for the TV and there are a number of features and options to play streamed channels and other services such as iPlayer and YouTube among less well known options.
Like many top end LGs thisTV comes with a wide selection of choices to customise the channels you are watching and the TV offers all sorts of features to ensure you are looking at the best quality of picture for the appropriate programme. The LG LV550T even has a Picture Wizard, which explains what the wide array of options to customise the set actually do.
LG LV550T Picture
The TV’s LED capabilities and other processing features such as the TruMotion technology mean the set creates bright and vibrant pictures in good light. Bad light does however mean the picture can be dull and this takes a lot of setting up to even partially eradicate.
TruMotion does artificially increase the refresh rate and motion blur is not a common thing on the set and gaming is recommended as there is little lag. The up scaling abilities are also impressive and the TV has excellent powers to do so, removing a lot of noise from Standard definition programmes
Overall
Like the bigger 42inch version of the set, the sound quality leaves a little to be desired, with bass the most obvious shortfall. However we must agree we liked the TV and its picture was very good in brightness, though poor in darker scenes, but it is certainly a good TV for its current price.
